Personal Statment

I have always been interested in caring for cancer patients. I find it humbling and gratifying to care for complex patients who need surgical and chemotherapy treatments. I chose to specialize in Gynecology Oncology as it allowed me to focus on both aspects.

I have a deep love for international travel, poker, playing/watching soccer, and good food. I'm most happy when cooking, cutting root vegetables and quartering a whole chicken. I find enjoyment out of mentoring residents and fellows as I am profoundly interested in fostering the next generation of physicians. A fun fact about me is that my wife and I recently completed running 1000 consecutive days outdoors, even in the rain, snow, ice, or heat!

Dr. DeSimone has always shared options and helped to guide me with my treatment over the past 18 years. I like that he starts to present options in advance of needing to make those decisions.

#1. Excellent and with clear answers. #2. Excellent. #3. When I had a question on my second visit, doctor explained clearly why he was making a change. #4. I have never had doubts questioning my doctor decisions. #5. I am very glad to share with folks the care I receive from "U.K. Markey Center." I strongly feel that the Lord had lead me to this facility for the type of care I needed to receive.
