Per Diem Nursing Pool

The per diem pool provides supplemental staffing to all patient care areas in the hospital for pre-existing shift vacancies as well as "call-in" shift vacancies. The per diem pool is made up of two distinct staffing groups, acute care and ICU/critical care.

The acute care pool works as needed in all adult medical/surgical units as well as telemetry. The nurses are required to complete specialized courses to ensure competency in telemetry and oncology as well as core competencies for all other medical/surgical areas.

The ICU pool works as needed in all critical care units as well as the Emergency Department and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). This staff must complete specialized course work to ensure competency in the ICUs. All must maintain ACLS certification.
