2022 Markey Cancer Center Annual Report

The Markey Cancer Center is a beacon of hope for cancer patients in Kentucky and beyond. As the only National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center in the state, Markey has earned a reputation for excellence and is ranked among the top 50 cancer centers in the United States. But its mission goes far beyond just providing top-notch treatment—it is a team of trailblazers, catalysts and visionaries who are dedicated to reducing the cancer burden in Kentucky.

World-renowned researchers at Markey are leading the charge in the fight against cancer, exploring new ways to treat melanoma, and discovering the root cause of high rates of pediatric brain cancer. The Precision Medicine Clinic uses a personalized approach that takes into account each patient's unique genetics, health environment, and lifestyle to develop customized treatment plans. And thanks to major gifts from donors like Central Bank and the William Stamps Farish Fund, Markey will be able to continue this lifesaving work. A team of doctors, nurses, researchers, pharmacists, social workers, volunteers, donors, and affiliate partners are all committed to finding breakthroughs and providing the best possible care for patients.

The 2022 annual report looks back at the past year and showcases some of the center's achievements in improving the future health of people in the Commonwealth. These accomplishments demonstrate Markey's dedication to improving the lives of Kentuckians.
