After pursuing answers for a few years treatment seems to have stalled with no results, I feel my doctor has no interest in helping with my treatment.

Dr Guduru does a great job when he gives me botox as well as managing my prescriptions. He always takes time to talk and answer my questions. What could be painful (the injections) is minimal. This visit, my injections were done by a resident. He asked my permission first. He supervised this resident very closely so that I would gain the great benefit from these injections. If the resident needed help, he was right there to help. I had no pain afterward. I have already received a paper with the date of my next injection.

While Dr. Guduru seems to have very good knowledge of movement disorders, visits with him are highly clinical and have a distinct feel of the patient being merely a case study. There is always a medical student or resident sent into the exam room prior to Dr. Guduru which results in the patient being questioned multiple times (once by the resident/student and then again by the doctor). With a disease like Huntington's this approach is frustrating to the patient. While we understand that UK is a teaching hospital, it feels that teaching is the primary focus. The patient's needs are met clinically (medicines prescribed, etc.) but little consideration Is given for the social/emotional needs of the patient. More than once Dr. Guduru has acted as if this was the first encounter while in fact we have seen him for several years. Unfortunately we have experienced this with several doctors in the neuroscience practice at UK.

Due to excessive travel time from Glasgow, KY, I transferred my medical care from the Cleveland Clinic to U of K HealthCare - Dr. Guduru. Yesterday was my first appointment receiving botox injections from Dr. Guduru for Cervical Dystonia. I had always believed the Cleveland Clinic valued their patients, and the environment was a well oiled machine. Due to that thought, I hesitated to transfer my medical care. After visiting U of K HealthCare Clinic, I have been pleasantly surprised with the timeliness, efficiency, care and concern with all involved with my visit, and the patient centered mentality. Keep up the good work!

Dr. Guduru was very professional yet extremely kind and personable. His explanations were concise and understandable. He gave me time to think about what he said and ask questions. I was impressed with his study of my history and how thorough he was.
