Not a good experience with this doctor. I would only return if I could be seen by a different rheumatologist. Though Dr. Alklany showed obvious intelligence and formality at the beginning of our visit, she quickly became curt and dismissive throughout my appointment. She asked me questions but then cut me off or made judgmental remarks when I tried to answer them, which made me feel that my input wasn't necessary or that she was just going through the motions. My case is complex and has taken a winding path to rheumatology, yet she made little space for me to explain the complexities (even though I was taking pains to be quick about it), again cutting me off or even directly disregarding my prior diagnoses (which are outside of her specialty) after only conducting cursory examinations. I've had many disappointing and alienating experiences like that in pursuit of getting help for my chronic pain, and this appointment only added to those memories. She's obviously very smart, but her bedside manner for my visit with her made me feel unheard, uncared for, and belittled. I do not want to receive care from her in the future.

I trust Dr. Alkilany completely. She has empathy, compassion and an abundance of knowledge. I would highly recommend her. I appreciate her care.
