John Ragsdale graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed a pediatric internal medicine residency at the University of Kentucky, serving as Med-Peds chief resident his final year. After residency, he completed a general internal medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh and received a Master of Science in Medical Education. He has given multiple workshops at national meetings on various topics in medical education and faculty development.

Dr. Ragsdale's academic interests include curriculum development, physical exam, and clinical reasoning. He is an attending physician on the inpatient internal medicine services.
