Markey’s dedication to patient care, research leads to national ranking

Dr. Mark Evers talks about Markey's U.S. News ranking.

The UK Markey Cancer Center has been ranked 38th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. This year’s significant move from 50th to 38th is indicative of the UK Markey Cancer Center’s continued emphasis on providing state-of-the-art care as Kentucky’s only National Cancer Institute-designated center.

At Markey, providers take a collaborative, comprehensive approach to treating different types of cancer. The multidisciplinary teams work with the patient and their family to develop an individualized assessment to help them decide which treatment best meets their needs and personal preferences.

For patients with advanced or recurrent cancer, Markey often uses the latest research programs offering breakthrough treatments and therapies. Patients have access to more than 100 nationally sponsored clinical studies for different types of cancer.

Watch Dr. Mark Evers, the director of the UK Markey Cancer Center, explain what this recognition means for patients.
