Ophthalmologist was new to me and she showed a lot of concern. She spent the right amount of time with me. She showed a lot of concern for my condition.

Though I liked the doctor, I could not recommend this facility in good faith. Business operations could use some improvement from start to finish.

The comments above concern my doctor and not the nurse practitioner. However, I am not sure whose job It was to take care of an Issue I faced. I was unhappy with the fact that although I was given an eye dilation medication, the doctor only fleetingly suggested that I could (rather than should) wear dark sunglasses after leaving the hospital and no mention that I could wait a little before driving was made. More importantly, no sunglasses were offered (they provided them to my husband at the Shriner's facility). When I left the hospital building it was sunny and it was a big shock to my eyes. I had to partially close my eyes while walking to get to my car. Fortunately, I had sunglasses in the car and wearing them helped a little.

Great personality. I couldn't ask for more.

No attempt to know me. I was "a pair of eyes." The assistant took the history, not the doctor.

Dr. Smith has a great bed-side manner. She doesn't waste any time but she also doesn't rush the process. She is careful during her examinations and explains what she sees and impact on my health.

Most optometrists impress me as someone who could be replaced by a machine -- it's all "Is 3 better than 4?" followed by a prescription for a new pair of glasses. However, Dr. Smith was clearly thinking about the problem I was having, ruled out some silly theories proposed by other doctors, and made a clear recommendation (which probably isn't going to work, but apparently there isn't a clear diagnosis of the problem). I think the problem is that the tools being used aren't good enough.

This was my very first visit with Dr. Erica Smith (and the Richmond office) and I was pleased with this visit, (I was a previous patient of Dr. Caudill at the KY Clinic - Lex. Office). During the exam, Dr. Smith informed me of any issues regarding my eyes, she explained things well, and answered all of my questions (i.e., cataracts, glaucoma, contact lens, my stigmatism, etc.). Dr. Smith addressed my concerns and did not make me feel as though I was being rushed or getting on her nerves. She was very personable, patient, and professional. She has a very pleasant demeanor and made me feel very comfortable being there.

Dr. Smith is a wonderful provider. She did a good job of explaining everything and answering my questions. I really appreciate her and her care!

The Good Doctor

Cannot describe how professional/wonderful she was; know she was busy but she took a lot of time with me, was very patient and kind to discuss lots of options, include another provider (your contact lens person) and helped me weigh out decision making very thoughtfully. It took a lot of her time and I am so appreciative!
