My primary concern, for my visit, was evaluation/treatment of my thyroid and thyroid nodules (6 month follow up). Countless times the fact that my BMI was brought up, as well as being told I was morbidly obese was not the reason why I came for my visit. I know I'm overweight. I know I need to lose weight. When I did mention options for weight loss management (non-surgical), I was told to consult with my PCP who is not associated with UK to have my PCP make a referral somewhere. I feel as though the provider could of done a better job of listening to my concerns verses continuously changing the conversation to my BMI. I was so upset when I left my appointment I was in tears. I am now contemplating transferring my care to another provider outside of UK HealthCare.

Regina seems to be an excellent doctor and I have only seen her once so my answers to your questions may be unfair. There was only one incident where I attempted to express a very deep concern with my treatment and that was the fear of gaining weight. I had battled with eating disorder when I was younger and I started to address it but I was cut off being told her job was to get me healthy. I stopped and wouldn't go any further because I understand her stance, but my fears go deep and I was hoping there could be some way things could be worked around too to help calm my fears.

I have good experience from all staffs and providers.

She was very knowledgeable about my problem. However, she was abrasive and she didn't listen to what I had to say. She interrupted me in the middle of my comment.

I was referred to this specialist to get etiology and research the best care to prevent farther damage to my thyroid. Instead I was told to wait it out until the problem develops into a more relent Hashioto's. No testing was offered. It was wasted time.
