Ms. Hawthorne was extremely professional and had read my entire case file (23 years worth) responding respectfully to all of my questions with background knowledge plus experience, care and understanding. Being a survivor means living and that is the overall goal but she also clearly understands wanting to live well controlling pain, compromised immune system and swelling. She also understands that once you have had cancer, it never quite leaves you mentally or emotionally and you try to keep it at bay with courage, healthy lifestyle and hope that it will not come back until perhaps when the body is very old, having reached beyond normal life expectancy. She was not dismissive when I explained my thought process on recent issues with swelling and she was proactive in a treatment option plus holding off on any procedures that may adversely affect the issue at hand. She also listened intently as if I was her most important patient that day. She did not check her watch constantly as most doctors do now, rushing through and perhaps not allowing me the time or consideration to say something important that may affect my treatment negatively or positively. I have been poked, prodded, operated on many times, poisoned with chemo and I was grateful to not be dismissed. I've ridden multiple centuries on my bike, climbed one of the 7 highest peaks plus many other high mountains, volunteered in 3rd world countries and there is more that I want to see, to do and to give to this world. It was very inspirational to find that UK Breastcare continues to provide this kind of support for survivors. I am also impressed that UK has added integrated medicine across the hall that promotes healing and prevention.

Ms. Hawthorne was fantastic! She began by asking how I was doing and she genuinely listened to any and all concerns I had and took the time to explain them in great detail. She was reassuring with data to back her up and when she suggested a new medication, she thoroughly explained it and answered any questions I might have had. I hope that I will see her on the next rotation with the medical onocologist.

Kelly is GREAT and her support staff was equally excellent... Each of them I consider to be highly competent and very professional.

I actually talked to the physician's assistant. I probably would have liked to see the doctor but the P.A. Was very good as well as the Dr I was to see was not available.

Very long procedures, with lots of waits in between. Very stressful.

Kelly Hawthorne has been seeing me for several years and we have developed a very special friendship. She found out about my husband passing on her own. She actually was assigned one day to check on him during a chemo treatment which made us very comfortable! She is always caring and specific in her exams and explanations. I trust her completely!

NP was very pleasant and open to questions. I did not feel rushed at all. Registration staff and the medical assistant who took my blood pressure were very friendly and professional.
