Neuropsychology Service
The neuropsychology service offers diagnostic evaluations for children (age 5 and older) and adults with suspected neurocognitive deficits. Neuropsychological evaluation is a standard way to supplement other medical tests, and includes evaluation of memory skills, language, attention, planning and organization, motor skill, academic achievement, and visuospatial ability. Neuropsychological evaluation may be helpful in evaluating and diagnosing deficits due to a number of causes, including head injury, motor vehicle accidents, sports-related concussion, dementia, toxic exposure, epilepsy, tumors, depression and anxiety, or many other causes. The neuropsychologist will provide a report summarizing the patient’s neurocognitive functioning in the context of premorbid functioning and background. Reports also include recommendations for treatment and/or management.
