Audiology, Communication Disorders
The Communication Disorders Program offers a full range of audiology and
speech-language pathology services. Audiological tests include hearing
evaluation, impedence audiometry and hearing aid evaluation, consultation and
fitting. Electrophysiological tests are provided and include evoked potential
testing for hearing, electronystagmography (ENG) and posturography for vertigo
and balance disorders, and special testing for cochlear implants. Rehabilitative
audiology services include speech reading and auditory training, training with
assistive listening devices, management of tinnitus and cochlear implant
training. Diagnostic evaluation and therapy services are provided for children
and adults with disorders of speech, language and voice, including articulation,
fluency, laryngectomy, aphasia and swallowing disorders.
