UK HealthCare family celebrates 'Topping Out' of new hospital

September 30, 2009 marked an important milestone in the construction of the new UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital. We reached the highest point of the building’s 12 stories. It’s an accomplishment that deserves a celebration - see video of ceremony below.

But reaching the high point of construction is not the only reason to celebrate. This project has employed hundreds of construction workers, 34 contractors and 30 architectural, engineering and planning firms and has provided a much needed boost to our local economy.

After years of planning and construction, we’re still on schedule and on budget. So while patients won’t have to wait much longer to benefit from this amazing facility, many Kentuckians have already benefited from it.
