UK HealthCare's echocardiography lab,
located in the Gill Heart Institute, has been awarded
triple accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission
for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories. With accreditation in adult transthoracic, adult stress
and adult transesophageal, it is the only lab in the region to have full

Though usually resolved in a matter

neuropsychology testing - used by the NFL and NHL - to provide

The American Heart Association (AHA) has revised its lifesaving
CPR guidelines to double the amount of compressions between rescue breaths - 30 compressions
instead of 15. The AHA also
recommends a change in the way automated electronic defibrillators are used, from a three-shock sequence to a single shock to restore

Ophthalmologist Dr. John Conklin has successfully
performed Central Kentucky's first implantation of a new intraocular lens that can replace an eye lens affected by cataracts and correct near- and farsightedness. In clinical trials, 80 percent of patients receiving the new lens in both eyes were able to dispose of their glasses entirely.
