Established in 1957, UK HealthCare consists
of the medical, nursing, health sciences,
public health, dental and pharmacy patient
care activities of the University of Kentucky in
Lexington, Ky., and in several off-site locations.
The physicians, residents, staff and students take
pride in achieving excellence in patient care,
education, research and community service.
UK HealthCare draws upon the clinical expertise
of the faculty in all six colleges – Medicine,
Pharmacy, Nursing, Health Sciences, Dentistry
and Public Health – to advance patient care.
UK HealthCare is committed to the pillars of

clinical care. Dedicated to the health of the people of
Kentucky, we will provide the most advanced patient
care and serve as an information resource. We will
strengthen local health care and improve the delivery
system by partnering with community hospitals

The vision of UK HealthCare is to achieve national recognition as a Top 20 public academic health center providing optimal multidisciplinary health care and developing advanced medical therapeutics for the people of Kentucky and surrounding regions.
UK HealthCare includes UK Chandler Hospital,
Kentucky Children’s Hospital, UK Good Samaritan
Hospital, Kentucky Clinic, UK Polk-Dalton Clinic,
Kentucky Clinic South, UK HealthCare East,
80 specialized clinics, 143 outreach programs, and a
team of 6,000 physicians, nurses, pharmacists and
health care workers all dedicated to patient health.
As part of an academic health center, these teams
work together with the colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy,
Nursing, Health Sciences, Dentistry and Public Health
to ensure Kentuckians receive the highest quality health
care as well as the latest health care information.
The unique capabilities of this multispeciality group
practice enable care providers of UK HealthCare to
collaborate in multidisciplinary teams for patient care.

UK HealthCare emcompasses all of the patient care and clinical facilities, programs and activities of the University of Kentucky (including the medical campus and off-site locations).
UK Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Health Sciences, Public Health and Pharmacy are considered part of the medical campus.
UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital
With Central and Eastern Kentucky’s only Level I trauma center, the 489-bed UK Chandler Hospital handles the most severe traumas, has the only Level III neonatal intensive care unit in the area to treat the sickest infants, and has a Joint Commission-accredited primary stroke center.
Kentucky Children’s Hospital
Kentucky Children’s Hospital serves as the subspecialty regional referral and pediatric care center for Central and Eastern Kentucky. Transport service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Markey Cancer Center
Established in 1985, Markey Cancer Center utilizes the resources of 28 departments, eight colleges and 150 faculty members throughout UK to further the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer.
Gill Heart Institute
Gill Heart Institute cardiac services include diagnostic heart testing, heart monitoring and other treatments utilizing some of the most sophisticated equipment available in the country.
Kentucky Neuroscience Institute
KNI clinics are located in the Kentucky Clinic. Neurology and neurosurgery disciplines collaborate to treat disorders of the nervous system, brain, spine, bone and musculoskeletal system.
Kentucky Clinic
Kentucky Clinic is the outpatient practice for more than 400 physicians, dentists and other UK HealthCare providers. X-ray facilities, a pharmacy, optical shop, and more than 30 clinical areas offering a full range of primary and specialty care are conveniently located in one building.
UK Good Samaritan Hospital
310 S. Limestone, Lexington
Acquired by UK HealthCare in 2007, UK Good Samaritan Hospital is a 302-bed acute-care hospital known for providing exceptional personal care and attention to patients. The hospital features an emergency department as well as a 50,000-square-foot outpatient medical office building, all in a convenient downtown location.
Kentucky Clinic South
2400 Greatstone Point, Lexington
Kentucky Clinic South is home to more than 10 outpatient clinics, including adult and pediatric primary care, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery and sports medicine, pediatric cardiology and gastrointestinal services, dentistry, travel clinic, and laser eye surgery.
UK Polk-Dalton Clinic
217 Elm Tree Lane, Lexington
UK Polk-Dalton Clinic outpatient services provided include dentistry, family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology and pediatric care.
UK HealthCare East
101 Prosperous Place, Lexington
UK HealthCare East services include plastic and cosmetic surgery, women’s health services, pain management and ambulatory surgery.
Psychiatry Outpatient Services
3470 Blazer Parkway, Lexington, 3rd floor
The Psychiatry outpatient facility offers a full range of pediatric and adult clinical services. A 31-bed (19 adult and 12 adolescent) inpatient unit is located at UK Good Samaritan.
