Please check with a nurse in your loved one's area for the visiting policy. Visitors should always check at the nurses' station before visiting a patient.
UK Chandler Hospital Security is dedicated to providing a safe environment for patients, families, visitors, faculty and staff.
As an enhancement to our current security policy, all hospital visitors staying after 9 p.m. must receive a visitor pass from the security desk, located near the first floor main entrance. For more information, contact Hospital Security’s administrative office at 323-8588.
Visitors who are ill should not visit UK Chandler Hospital. It is important that anyone who has a cold, sore throat, flu, stomach virus or any contagious disease, including chicken pox, not visit the hospital.
Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments or when the doctor or nurse needs to examine the patient.
Children must have adult supervision at all times.
Children under 10 are not permitted in patient care areas. Please ask the nurse on your loved one's floor for special permission.
The Volunteer Office delivers letters and cards to patient rooms Monday through Friday. Mail received after the patient has been discharged will be forwarded to his or her home address. If you have questions about patient mail delivery, please call the Volunteer Office at 859-323-6023 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A full-service post office is located in the basement of the hospital in room M63. The post office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 859-257-6360 for more information.
Now you can send an e-mail greeting to a patient at UK Chandler Hospital, Kentucky Children's Hospital or Markey Cancer Center. The Volunteer Office delivers eGreetings to patient rooms Monday through Friday. We cannot forward eGreetings received after the patient has been discharged, so they will be safely discarded. Kentucky Children's Hospital's free CarePage service lets you set up a Web page for you or your loved ones who are in the hospital. You can post and receive messages, add updates and post photos. To set up a CarePage, click here.
Flowers will be delivered directly to all patient rooms, except for patients in the intensive care units. Flowers delivered to the intensive care units will be left at the nurses' station.
The daily Lexington Herald-Leader is available from vending machines near the hospital information desk, the B elevators and the entrance to Kentucky Children's Hospital.
Visitors should check with a nurse before bringing gifts of food or drink to patients. On the intensive care unit, please check at the nursing station before bringing any gifts for patients. For the safety of our patients, only mylar balloons are permitted in the hospital.
Located in the hospital lobby on the first floor, the gift shop sells various personal care items, reading materials, candy and gifts. You may also purchase gift baskets, University of Kentucky merchandise, flower arrangements and stuffed toys by phone. Volunteers will deliver the gifts to UK Chandler Hospital, Kentucky Children’s Hospital and Markey Cancer Center patients. The gift shop accepts cash, Visa and MasterCard and can deliver Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Call 859-323-5797 for more information.

There is an ATM located on the first floor of the hospital just past the Information Desk on the right side. If this cash machine is unavailable, another one is located in the first floor of the College of Medicine building behind the hospital.
The Health Information Library is UK Chandler Hospital's resource center for patients and family members. The library provides books, videos, brochures, computers with Internet access and more to add to the information provided by your physician or nurse. Located on the first floor of the hospital in room C104, just down the hall from the Information Desk, the library is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Parking at UK Chandler Hospital is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The UK Chandler Hospital parking garage is located on Rose Street and South Limestone. Markey Cancer Center has patient and visitor parking located off of Hospital Drive. There is a charge for parking at UK Chandler Hospital and rates are posted at the entrances to the garages. A listing of fees is available from Parking and Security, room H105, just past the hospital lobby. Parking passes
Visitors needing frequent access to the parking areas may purchase a seven-day visitor pass. To purchase a pass, please go to Parking and Security, room H105.
