At Kentucky Children's Hospital we care for young patients with Cystic Fibrosis and other metabolic disorders, neural tube defects, congenital heart disease, childhood cancers and hematological disorders, as well as injuries secondary to trauma/abuse.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
In the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit we care for premature and critically ill infants.
Kentucky Children’s Hospital Outpatient Express Unit
In the Outpatient Express we care for patients who require tests, procedures and surgery that can be performed on an outpatient basis, and for patients who require hospitalization for a maximum of 23 hours. Patients receive their initial assessment prior to being transferred to an inpatient bed.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
In the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit we care for newborns to 16 year olds with medical/surgical problems who require frequent observation and/or invasive specialized monitoring technology.
