A full-service pediatric heart center
This full-service center provides inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and treatment services for children with congenital or acquired heart disease. Treatment also includes patients who have advanced into adulthood, providing the consistency of comprehensive care important to positive long-term outcomes.
KCH is the only hospital that offers this level of care, including the only Level III NICU in the eastern half of Kentucky. More information

Pediatric Cardiology
The cardiology team excels in the management of complex congenital heart defects and acquired heart disease from fetus to adult
Fetal Echocardiography
The Kentucky Children's Heart Center team can identify virtually all complex congenital heart disease in fetuses, some as young as 18-20 weeks.
Cardiothoracic Surgery
The Cardiothoracic Surgery (CT) team specializes in early correction or complete repair of single ventricle heart defects and a wide range of congenital heart diseases.
Pediatric Anesthesiology
Kentucky Children's Heart Center offers the only team of specially trained pediatric anesthesiologists in the eastern half of the Commonwealth
Pediatric Critical Care
Our pediatric intensivists provide expertise in the medical management of seriously ill pediatric cardiac patients, including the critical recovery phase following surgery.
Digital Communication
Using links to several outside hospitals, Kentucky Children's Heart Center specialists can interpret echocardiograms from remote nurseries and help on-site medical teams manage their patients.
