Volunteer OpportunitiesUniversity of Kentucky Hospital Volunteer Services offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. Using the skills and abilities of community volunteers, departments throughout the hospital are greatly enhanced. Volunteer opportunities exist in many areas throughout the Hospital, Clinics and Children’s Hospital, ranging from the Emergency Department to working in the Gift Shop. Men, women and teens who are at least 14 years of age are welcome. The Volunteer Office is currently seeking adult volunteers for the following positions: Flower and Mail Delivery to patients and families: Volunteers are needed Tuesday 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. and Friday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Gift Shop: Volunteers will work the cash register and greet customers as they come into the gift shop. Volunteers are needed 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., Wednesday - Friday Patient Greeters: Markey Cancer Center and the Gill Heart Institute are seeking voluntary greeters and direction givers for incoming patients.
