Gill Heart Institute cardiac services include diagnostic heart testing, heart monitoring and interventional and other treatments utilizing some of the most sophisticated equipment available in the country.

The Linda and Jack Gill Heart Institute building was founded on a generous $5 million donation by the Gill Foundation. The five-story building houses the following:

• Outpatient and non-invasive cardiac procedure clinics
• Cardiac catheterization suites for inpatient and outpatient treatment
• Electrophysiology laboratory
• Administrative and faculty offices

Expansion toward modernization

Physical and technological expansion achievements are widening the embrace for heart patients. Since July 2003, more than 8,000 patients have been seen in the cardiology clinic section of the new Gill Building. This expanded area is now one of the largest in the region, totaling 16 exam rooms - almost twice as many as the previous area at the Kentucky Clinic. Now, patients can get an EKG performed in the patient exam room instead of moving to another room. As a special touch, the new clinic has consult rooms to accommodate patient/family meetings.
