University Health Service Clinicians

The University Health Service physicians are board certified or eligible in Family Practice, Internal Medicine & Gynecology, Emergency Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Pediatrics. Clinicians certified as Gynecology Nurse Practitioners and Family Care Nurse Practitioners also assist students with their health care needs. In addition, the Health Service has a Behvioral Health Clinic staffed by board certified psychiatrists and advanced practice registered nurses.

Gregory R. Moore, M.D., MPH
University Health Service Director
Dr. Moore received his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College and his Master of Public Health Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. His medical degree is from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed an OB/GYN residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, and is board certified in that specialty. At UK he is an Adjunct Associate Professor of both OB/GYN and Preventive Medicine. He served in a variety of clinical and operational positions in the U.S. Navy, including Chair of the Department of OB/GYN at the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, MD and Task Force Command Surgeon aboard USS Belleau Wood. Most recently he served as the Medical Director at the Naval Hospital, Camp Lejeune, NC. He joined the University Health Service as director in 2003.

Kim Bennett, ARNP

Kim Bennett, ARNP
 
Kim  Bennett has an A.D.N. in nursing from Midway College, a B.S. from the University of Kentucky, and a B.S.N and M.S.N. from Eastern Kentucky University. She has been named to Who's Who Among College Students and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. Ms. Bennett received her training as a family nurse practitioner from the University of North Dakota and Eastern Kentucky University.  In addition to being a certified family nurse practitioner she is also a sexual assault nurse examiner. Prior to joining University Health Service in March 1994, Ms. Bennett was manager of Urgent Treatment Center.

Scott Black, M.D.

W. Scott Black, M.D.
 
Dr. Black is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and completed his family medicine residency at UK. After working in private practice for several years, Dr. Black returned to UK to finish a Master of Science degree in exercise physiology. He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University. Prior to joining the UHS staff in 2007, Dr. Black was on faculty at the University of Louisville where he established the sports medicine fellowship and served as team physician.

Chris McGlothlin-Boggs, ARNP

Christina McGlothlin-Boggs, ARNP
Chris McGlothlin-Boggs graduated with a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of Charleston, Charleston, WV. She completed her master of science degree in nursing at the University of Kentucky. She is nationally certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a family nurse practitioner. McGlothlin-Boggs is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Her publications include three chapters in Mosby's Family Nurse Practitioner Certification Exam Review Book.  Prior to joining UHS, McGlothlin-Boggs practiced at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Lexington as an ARNP in the primary and urgent care clinics. While at the VAMC, she received the Secretary of Veterans Affairs Award for Excellence in Nursing in recognition of her support and commitment to veterans. She continues to volunteer weekly at the VA Medical Center as the leader for a Healthy Lifestyle Support Group.

Joanne Brown, ARNP

Joanne Brown , ARNP
Joanne Brown graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the State University of New York, College at Plattsburgh. She received her Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Kentucky. She is nationally certified as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Brown is a member of the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners & Nurse Midwives, the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Prior to joining University Health Service, she worked as an ARNP in a private Ob/Gyn practice and for a community based free clinic. Ms. Brown joined UHS in 2006.

Thom Dale, M.D.

Thomas A. Dale II, M.D.
Thom Dale is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and the UK College of Medicine. He completed an internship in Savannah, Ga., and a residency in family practice at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Florida. He is board certified in family practice.  During the summer, Dr. Dale performs volunteer work at Mashoko Hospital in Zimbabwe, Africa. Dr. Dale joined University Health Service in 1976. His clinical activities are primarily in the gynecology clinic.

Jennie Doane, ARNP

Jennie Doane, ARNP
Jennie Doane received her B.S.N. degree from Bellarmine College, her M.S.N. from the University of Kentucky, and is certified as a family nurse practitioner. She is a member of American Nurses Association and the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Prior to pursuing her M.S.N. Ms. Doane worked as patient care manager in a private medical practice in Lexington. She joined University Health Service in 1994.

Susan Griffith, M.D.

J. Susan Griffith, M.D. 
Susan Griffith is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Kentucky and a graduate of the UK College of Medicine, where she completed her residency in family practice and was chief resident. She is board certified in family practice. Prior to working at University Health Service, Griffith was clinic director at UK's Family Medical Center.  Dr. Griffith joined University Health Service in 1992 and serves as coordinator of research activities.

Ann A. Hays, M.D.
Ann Hays is a graduate of Berea College and a graduate with high distinction from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine where she also completed her residency in family practice. She is board certified in family practice. Dr. Hays joined University Health Service in 1985 and serves as the coordinator of the teaching program for fourth-year medical students.

Dr. Jones

Janine Jones, M.D.
Janine Jones is a cum laude graduate of Asbury College and a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She completed her residency in family practice at the University of North Carolina. She is board certified in family practice. She has worked in missionary medicine at Hualia, Taiwan, and in urgent care medicine in Lexington. Dr. Jones joined University Health Service in 1989.

Jill Kindy, R.D.


Jill Kindy, M.A., R.D.
 Jill Kindy received her bachelor of science degree in dietetics from Michigan State University and her master of arts in health education from the University of Alabama. She completed a dietetic internship at the University of Michigan Medical Center, is a registered/licensed dietitian, and is one of only four board certified specialists in sports dietetics (CSSD) in the state of Kentucky. Kindy also serves as a nutrition consultant for the UK Athletics Department. She provides nutrition counseling, participates in a variety of health promotion activities and is co-coordinator of UK CARES, an eating disorder task force. Ms. Kindy joined University Health Service in 1998.

Paul McLaughlin, M.D.
Paul McLaughlin graduated with distinction from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy and with distinction from the UK College of Medicine. He completed his residency at the UK Chandler Medical Center Department of Family Practice and is board certified in family practice. Dr. McLaughlin has a background in primary care and urgent care medicine. He joined the University Health Service in July, 2003.

Lori Molenaar, ARNP
Lori Molenaar received her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Wright State University and her master of science in nursing from the University of Kentucky. She is certified as a psychiatric/mental health nurse and as a clinical specialist in child and adolescent psychiatric/mental health nursing.  Prior to joining University Health Service, she worked as a staff nurse at Charter Ridge Hospital and at the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department.  She also directed an after-school program for severely emotionally disturbed children and their families. Ms. Molenaar joined University Health Service in 1997.

T. Scott Prince, M.D.


T. Scott Prince, M.D. MSPH

Dr. Prince is a graduate of the Emory University School of Medicine. He completed residencies at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC, and the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. In addition to serving part-time as a consultant in Occupational Medicine and Employee Health at University Health Service, Dr. Prince is an Associate Professor of Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health at UK. His special interests include travel medicine, preventive medicine, environmental medicine and impairment/disability, and he is certified in Occupational Medicine. Dr. Prince joined University Health Service in 2002.

Smith

Shawn Smith, M.D.
Dr. Smith is a graduate of Kansas State University and graduate of the University of Kentucky College of
Medicine. She completed an internship in Psychiatry and a
residency in Pediatrics from the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. She is board certified in pediatrics. Prior to joining the University Health Services she was
faculty in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at the University of Kentucky. She continues as faculty in the Department of Pediatrics. She is a member of the Society for Adolescent Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She joined the University Health Service in 2008.

Deb Stromberg, ARNP

Deb Stromberg, ARNP
Deb Stromberg graduated with a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Marian College in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She completed her master of science degree in nursing at the University of Kentucky. She is nationally certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a family nurse practitioner. Ms. Stromberg is a member of the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Prior to joining University Health Service she was in a private medical practice. Ms. Stromberg joined University Health Service in 2005.
