Physicians are independent contractors, not employees or agents of the hospital. Your physician determines the diagnostic tests you will undergo and the therapeutic services prescribed for you. Hospital staff, nurses, technologists and other specialists will follow your physician's directions in providing your program of care. You will be asked to sign appropriate consent and release forms that authorize hospital personnel to provide the services your physician orders.
