Occupational Therapy retrains patients in the skills needed for everyday living. They use graded activities, safety training and other compensatory techniques to improve activities of daily living. Occupational Therapists are specialists in recommending adaptive equipment and other environmental changes to increase safety and function. Goals of Occupational Therapy are to return to functional independence by improving motor, sensory, perceptual and cognitive abilities.
