Bill Payment

When you arrive, financial arrangements for the payment of your hospital bill will be made. If you have hospitalization insurance at the time of your
admission that is expected to cover your hospital bill in full, a cash deposit is not necessary. However, if your insurance does not provide full coverage, you will be requested to make a deposit and/or assign your insurance benefits on or before admission. The amount of the deposit will vary according to your diagnosis, the expected length of stay in the hospital and your insurance coverage.

Please bring your insurance card or any other pertinent insurance information with you to the hospital. Hospital insurance plans normally do not provide full coverage of your hospital bill. Your hospitalization coverage is a contract between you and your insurance company, and while we will cooperate to the fullest in expediting your claim, you are
ultimately responsible for your account. Unless other arrangements
have been made prior to your admission, assignments of sufficient
insurance benefits and payment of the difference between your expected insurance coverage and the total hospital bill is required at the
time of discharge.

We request that you contact your insurance company and/or employer within seven days of your discharge date to make sure that all necessary claim forms have been signed by the policy holder and your physician in order to pay your claim.

If you experience difficulty financing your hospitalization, we encourage you to contact our financial counselor in the Business Office in advance of your admission, or as soon as possible thereafter, so that we may assist you in making arrangements.

While you are hospitalized, you may receive professional services from specialists or consultant physicians required to diagnose or treat you. You will be billed for these services directly by the specialist or physician involved, for example:

Radiologist - if x-ray, ultrasound, CT or nuclear medicine examinations were required.

Anesthesiologist/anesthetist - if surgery or epidural anesthetic was performed.

Cardiologist - if cardiac procedures were performed.

Pathologist - if certain types of laboratory tests were required.

ER physician - if you were seen there prior to admission.

These bills may not be covered by your insurance. Your insurance policy or insurance representative will help you determine which bills will be covered.
