Blood disorders require specialized care and advanced treatment methods. The Markey Cancer Center's Hematologic Specialty Team specializes in treating patients with leukemia, anemia, sickle cell disease, lymphoma and myeloma, as well as patients requiring blood and marrow transplants.

Anthem and Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance coverage
UK HealthCare's adult allogenic Blood and Bone Marrow Transplantation program has been designated a Center of Medical Excellence by Anthem Health Insurance. In addition, the adult autologous Blood and Marrow Transplantation program is a Blue Distinction Center of Transplant by Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Patients with Anthem Health Insurance and patients with Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance can be referred to and treated by UK HealthCare's Blood and Marrow Transplantation program.
