The stroke center at UK Chandler Hospital was the first in the region to be designated as a Primary Stroke Center. That certification, issued by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), is a recognition of the hospital’s specially-trained physicians and staff, as well as the results of its Comprehensive Stroke Center.
