Genetics and Dysmorphology
Almost three out of every 100 babies is born with a birth defect or genetic
disorder. These disorders are caused by mutations or tiny breaks in the child's
genes (part of every person's DNA). These tiny breaks in DNA can be passed from the
parents to their child and in some cases can result in serious diseases.
Our specialists in Genetics and Dysmorphology work with patients and their
families to diagnose a wide range of genetic disorders and counsel them on
the many treatment and/or management options. We also work with expectant mothers
to test for potentially life-threatening diseases in the womb.
