Nathan Carter
Nathan Carter was 14 years old when his mother decided his complaints about being tired and thirsty were not ordinary. After a simple visit to the doctor, he was admitted to Kentucky Children’s Hospital.
Nathan's blood sugar was dangerously high, and was soon diagnosed with type II diabetes. Nathan learned how to inject insulin and to monitor his medication. Nathan continued to visit the Diabetes Clinic at Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Through changing his diet, Nathan lost 30 pounds, and was taken off insulin shots. Nathan is now trying to inspire others to try hard and believe in your ability to control diabetes.
